insurance space. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Client is seeking an
Assist with the overall accounting and operational functions
of the firm to include but not be limited to the following:
Process activity of certain reinsurance transactions and analyze actual results
versus expected results
Lead the firm’s STAT and GAAP quarterly close process, to include but not be
Prepare general expense accruals
Assist with the firm’s GAAP financial statement consolidation
Prepare supporting schedules to be used by Management
Lead the preparation of certain STAT and GAAP Audited Financial Statements
Provide financial reporting to the CEO of the firm’s offshore company
Act as finance liaison with firm’s primary third party administrator by
consolidating questions and issues raised by the team and working across
departments and with third party vendor to resolve the item in the short term
and eliminate its recurrence over the long term
Strong accounting skills
Life insurance (reinsurance) experience, including statutory and GAAP financial
Statutory Blue Book experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong analytical capabilities and good organizational skills.
· Life insurance tax or tax accounting experience a plus.
Investment accounting experience a plus.
· Strong EXCEL skills a must.
· Working knowledge of SharePoint a plus.
· BS or BA in Accountancy
· Candidate with CPA or MBA a plus
