Group Benefits Account Manager

Naperville, IL

 This is a newly created role centered around building strong client relationships and giving clients the very best service possible to help them gain the maximum benefit for their employee benefit dollars.

  • Work closely with the Sr VP to assist in plan design, analysis and administration of clients’ employee benefits programs
  • Develop strong client relationships. Assist in a wide range of activities to maintain and grow client accounts.
  • Actively take part in a wide variety of duties that include client account management, client communications, research, presentations, benefit documentation, uploading documents to client websites, financial analysis, and others.
  • This is an Account Management role, NOT SALES, but incentive bonuses can be earned for up-selling existing clients on any new products or services.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong client relationships.
  • Assist in a wide range of activities to maintain and grow client accounts.
  • Plan design, analysis and administration of client employee benefits programs assistance.
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus with a dedication to delivering excellent service.
  • Actively take part in a wide variety of duties to maintain and grow client accounts, including: client account management, monthly client communications, research, creating presentations in PowerPoint, benefit documentation, uploading documents to client websites, financial analysis using Excel, and other related responsibilities.
  • Should be comfortable presenting info to clients (either via phone, web or in-person).

Requirements:

  • 3-10 years of benefits plan design and administration within a group health insurance brokerage, benefits consulting, PEO, or benefits outsourcing firm. OR a Benefits Analyst or Benefits Specialist from the corporate world will be considered if they the right mind-set of servicing customers or have some type of vendor experience in another industry.
  • Account management and client interfacing experience is a strong plus
  • Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong math, logic and analytical skills
  • Advanced skills using MS Office Suite: Word, Outlook, Excel ( formulas, pivot tables and v-lookups), PowerPoint
  • Illinois Life and Health Insurance license producer certificate (if not current, one will be required within a few months)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Associates and experience with be considered)
