Senior Workers Compensation Underwriter
As thr Senior Underwriter, you will serve as the department's subject matter expert.
You will be responsible for the evaluation, selection, acceptance,
declination, pricing and servicing of the organizations more complex accounts.
You will serve as a role model of service excellence, as
well as mentor for underwriting staff members.
You will evaluates
policies to determine risk selection for the company's largest accounts.
This includes determining
account pricing, terms and conditions of highly complex risks.
You will manage
key relationships with various stakeholder levels.
timely and professional communication to customers.
You will be responsible for achieving
company written premium, loss ratio, submission and service objectives.
You will mentor
and trains department and company members on underwriting guidelines,
policies and procedures.
Conduct underwriting quality file reviews.
degree from an accredited college/university in a Business related field
You will have at least
3-6 years of Property and Casualty insurance underwriting experience- more is a big plus!
level knowledge of workers' compensation exposures and applicable
level knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices and procedures
communication skills, including experience with negotiation and sales
writing skills with ability to clearly communicate underwriting decisions
ability to confidently accept appropriate risk
attention to detail
experience reviewing financial statements and ratios associated with risk
proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
proficiency toward presenting industry information to various stakeholder
CIC, AU or CPCU designations preferred
