Treaty Casualty Underwriter

Baskin Ridge, NJ

Insurance carrier with reinsurance and reinsurance
platforms seeks a Treaty Casualty Underwriter responsible for analyzing,
maintaining and managing treaty accounts for large, national ceding companies,
middle market insurers and well as regional companies that write both casualty
and professional liability business.

You will be underwriting and managing both excess of
loss and proportional treaty reinsurance business within in guidelines on an
on-going basis.


You will be developing and maintaining relationships with national and
regional reinsurance brokers.


Prospecting, cultivating and producing new
business.


Attending industry conferences/meetings as needed.


You will be interacting and
collaborating with all functional areas of the company including actuarial,
contract wording, accounting, law and claims departments.


Scheduling,
organizing and conducting underwriting audits for both new and existing
accounts. Monitoring account performance.


Maintaining an understanding of all
current issues affecting the insurance and reinsurance industries as well as
casualty and professional liability lines of business.


Requirements:


5-10 years of
insurance/reinsurance underwriting experience; reinsurance, portfolio
management or program underwriting experience strongly preferred.


Prior
experience underwriting casualty and/or professional liability lines of
business.


Strong technical, analytical and business development experience.


Up
to 35% domestic travel.


Compensation up to 180K+ based on experience level,
incentives/bonus plan, full benefits package.
