Commercial Property Production Underwriter – Shared & Layered Property Program
Location: Remote
Salary: $200K+ Base + Uncapped Earnings ($500K–$700K+ Potential in 2–3 Years)

 

 

About the Role:
A long-standing client of ours—a highly successful and rapidly growing E&S carrier with an A-8 rating and multiple MGUs—is expanding its Shared and Layered Property Program and is seeking a dynamic Production Underwriter to join its elite team.

This role will focus on developing and leveraging strong broker relationships with major wholesale partners such as Amwins, CRC, RT Specialty, and others. You will be pivotal in driving submission flow, negotiating pricing, and transitioning placements to experienced reinsurance brokers.

This is a rare opportunity to join a nimble, high-performance team (capped at 10 underwriters nationally) with a large geographic footprint. This means exceptional income potential and ownership of key wholesaler relationships.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain deep relationships with top-tier wholesale brokers (e.g., RT, Amwins, CRC)
  • Drive high volumes of quality submissions for shared and layered property deals
  • Negotiate terms and pricing in coordination with internal teams and reinsurance brokers
  • Act as a market-facing underwriter with a focus on profitable growth
  • Collaborate with internal MGU teams and leverage company paper (E&S A-8) to deliver tailored solutions
  • Represent the program at industry events and broker meetings
 

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Shared and Layered Property Programs
  • Strong network and existing relationships with wholesale brokers in the assigned region
  • Track record of generating submissions and closing business
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong negotiation skills
  • Peril and class agnostic underwriting background is a plus
 

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $ 200 K+
  • Bonus/Commission: Uncapped; Total Compensation Target of $500K–$700K+ within 2–3 years
