About the Opportunity
Our client, a leader in the insurance industry, is seeking a Product Manager to join their dynamic team in a remote capacity. This critical role focuses on driving profitability and growth across assigned states and product lines, using data-driven strategies to optimize pricing, segmentation, and product offerings.

Reporting directly to the Director of Product Management, this position offers an exciting opportunity to influence business outcomes and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, actuarial, sales, IT, operations, and regulatory groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and execute profit and growth opportunities using detailed data analysis, underwriting insights, and strategic planning.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies to optimize market positioning, including rate planning and segmentation.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned product lines, ensuring alignment with business strategies and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee rate filings and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with state requirements.
  • Design and execute a multi-year product roadmap, incorporating new product development and updates to existing offerings.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to innovate product offerings and mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate with data teams to evaluate book composition, develop profitability plans, and implement underwriting strategies.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to pricing/state analysts, ensuring effective execution of data-driven initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams in underwriting, actuarial, IT, marketing, sales, and finance to align strategies and improve execution.
  • Develop and present insights to drive strategic decision-making and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Lead training sessions on product launches, updates, and underwriting guidelines to ensure team alignment.
 

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in P&C insurance within product management, actuarial analysis, or underwriting.
  • Strong expertise in commercial and/or farm/agribusiness lines.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with SQL, SAS, VBA, or R is highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of pricing methodologies, predictive modeling, and underwriting principles.
  • Proven track record in managing P&L using data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience with rate filings, product development, and regulatory approvals.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable strategies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing multiple product lines across varying markets.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Graduate degree or professional designations such as CPCU, ACAS, FCAS, or ARM.
    • Experience in the independent agency distribution model.
    • Knowledge of products and regulatory environments in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, and/or Arizona.
