POSITION SUMMARY:
Our client seeks a dedicated Senior Field Underwriter to join the team, focusing on exceptional customer service, building strong agency relationships, evaluating and pricing risks, and managing a growing book of business.
This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our business in Tennessee, leveraging established agency relationships to drive growth and profitability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and Enhance Agent Relationships: Cultivate and strengthen new and existing relationships with agents to drive qualified submissions, quotes, and binds, ensuring profitable growth and meeting annual goals.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with in-house underwriters and other departments to manage a designated book of business, providing oversight to ensure clients receive exceptional customer service.
- Agency Visits: Schedule and conduct agency visits weekly to maintain and grow relationships.
- Underwrite and Negotiate: Evaluate and negotiate new and renewal policies within company guidelines, ensuring acceptability, adequate pricing, and profitability.
- Documentation: Maintain underwriting files within established parameters.
- Attend Events: Participate in agency-related seminars, conferences, and events.
- Reporting and Projects: Prepare monthly reports, collaborate on special projects, and deliver presentations as required.
- Travel: Regional travel as necessary.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; CPCU and/or ARM desirable but not required.
- Ten or more years of Workers' Compensation underwriting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Workers’ Compensation Insurance, especially in Tennessee.
- Proven ability to build and maintain agent relationships in Tennessee, with a focus on the Greater Nashville and Knoxville areas.
- Familiarity with other Southeast jurisdictions, including NC, GA, SC, TX, and AL, is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple time-sensitive deadlines.
- Strong teamwork skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent computer, communication, and presentation skills.
