Senior Liability Examiner – Commercial Casualty (CD/GL)
Remote

Bring Your Experience. Make a Greater Impact.
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Liability Examiner to join their Commercial Casualty Claims team. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for accomplished professionals who bring decades of industry expertise and take pride in their ability to navigate complex claims with confidence, integrity, and efficiency.
Your expertise in evaluating high-exposure Commercial General Liability and Construction Defect claims will help shape outcomes that align with both our policyholder commitments and our core values of fairness and accountability.
This position is best suited for a professional who has refined their investigative instincts, negotiation skills, and technical expertise through years of hands-on experience and is seeking a company that values wisdom, independent judgment, and collaborative problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze policies, endorsements, and coverage forms with a practiced eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations involving liability, damage, causation, and third-party exposures.
  • Evaluate claims thoroughly and objectively, ensuring timely and accurate reserving and documentation.
  • Make well-supported recommendations on coverage, liability, settlement, and reserves to claims leadership.
  • Negotiate with claimants, legal representatives, and third parties to achieve fair and prompt resolutions.
  • Oversee and manage litigated files, including monitoring defense counsel compliance, reviewing legal strategies, and attending depositions, mediations, and trials as needed.
  • Identify potential trends, exposures, and loss control insights based on decades of claims handling insight.
  • Represent the organization in claim reviews and strategy sessions with large accounts or key partners.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced examiners or team members when appropriate.

What You Bring:

  • A deep and comprehensive understanding of the claims process, gained through extensive real-world experience in Commercial Liability claims, including General Liability and Construction Defect.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex fact patterns, apply nuanced policy language, and assess exposures with sound judgment.
  • Expertise in bodily injury, property damage, and litigation management, including a comfort level working directly with attorneys, brokers, and defense counsel.
  • Familiarity with construction operations, defect claims, medical terminology, and Medicare reporting requirements.
  • A steady, composed, and professional communication style—both written and verbal—that reflects years of negotiation, collaboration, and client-facing interactions.
  • Strong technical acumen, with comfort navigating claims systems, documentation protocols, and digital communication platforms.
  • A collaborative spirit, disciplined work ethic, and desire to continue contributing meaningfully to a high-performing team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ handling of Commercial Casualty claims required; however, we strongly encourage candidates with 20+ years of related experience to apply.
  • In-depth knowledge of contractors' general liability and construction defect claims is strongly preferred.
  • AIC or other industry certifications (e.g., CPCU) are valued.
  • Adjuster license(s) in multiple jurisdictions preferred.

Why join this client?
This role is designed for professionals who have spent their careers honing their craft and who are now seeking a meaningful opportunity to apply that expertise in a flexible, remote environment. They recognize and value the contributions of experienced claims professionals who bring not only knowledge but also perspective, maturity, and discernment to every claim they touch.

If you're looking to work in an environment that respects your experience, encourages autonomy, and supports your continued professional impact, we invite you to apply.
